If you need portable power, Tether Tools’ new ONsite Power line of accessories may just do the trick.

ONsite uses D-Tap batteries to charge AC and USB-powered devices such as laptops, camera batteries, LED monitors & lights, tablets and phones. The device pairs with a standard D-Tap battery and has a pair of AC outlets and four fast-charging USB ports.

Tether Tools says the ONsite adapter is TSA-friendly and is sold in U.S. and international versions in 110 or 220 volts. It will retail for $90 and ship in November. A $17 car adapter will let you plug in the ONsite to a car so you can recharge on the road.

The company will sell an ONsite Aero V-Mount for using the adapter with the company’s Aero Laptop Mounting System. The Aero V-Mount will set you back $80.

If you live on the East Coast of the U.S., rain has most definitely been on your radar this week, so the timing of Think Tank Photo’s new camera rain covers couldn’t be better.

The company has two rainy day solutions: the new Emergency Rain Covers and updated versions of its Hydrophobia Rain Covers.

The Emergency Rain Covers (pictured above) are designed for quickly protecting your camera from a sudden downpour. They are mounted to the hot shoe with a adjustable strap to secure them onto your lens hood.

They’re seamed seal and sold in two sizes.  The small version ($35) can fit a full frame camera body and a 16–35mm f/2.8, a 14–24mm f/2.8, a 24–105mm f/4, or a 24–70mm f/2.8 lens.  The medium cover ($40) can accommodate a  24–70mm f/2.8 or a 70–200mm f/2.8 lens.

The covers feature an oversized window to view your display and a cinchable sleeve to access your camera. Your camera can still be mounted to a tripod when the cover is attached.

Hydrophobia Rain Cover

Think Tank’s Hydrophobia rain covers are for prolonged camera use in inclement weather. The Hydrophobia V3.0 rain covers are available in five sizes to fit DSLRs and Sony’s full-frame mirrorless systems. They’re built from a 3-layer material comprised of 210T seam-sealed rip-stop, polyurethane film and 70D nylon tricot, and are Polyurethane seam-sealed for downpour or dusty conditions.  The covers feature weather resistant zippers, nylon webbing, and a rubberized laminate.  Eyepieces are sold separately for individual camera brands and allow access to the viewfinder.

There are two cinchable sleeves that provide access to the camera, plus an integrated shoulder strap. Like the emergency covers, these covers allow access to tripods and monopods. A carrying pouch is included.
